Rustenburg Information

Rustenburg is small city in the North West province of South Africa. The economy is mainly driven by the Platinum Mines which is the largest producer of platinum in the world. Besides the mines, Rustenburg is well known for its tourist attractions and wildlife. 40 kilometer from Rustenburg you will find the Pilanesberg National park where the big five can be seen. Kgaswane Nature reserve, which borders on Rustenburg, has barbeque and picnic facilities. Countless game farms can be visited and hunting trips are available.

40 km from Rustenburg is the famous Gary Player Course at Sun City where the MILLION DOLLAR NEDBANK GOLF CHALLENGE is played annually. At the same facilities is another championship course, the Lost City Course. Rustenburg has a beautiful 18 hole course of its own which is rated under the top 50 courses in South Africa. Within an hour’s drive you could play any of 30 quality golf courses.

Boer War
Rustenburg was a hot spot during the Boer War and many battles were fought in the surrounding areas. Battle grounds together with British and Commonwealth graves can be visited.
